I had a doctors appointment on Monday and things are going well. We did a Biophysical Profile and Eli passed although it was a close one. The baby has to pass the "test" within a half an hour. The ultrasound technician was having a hard time getting Eli to move his head. He's going to be a stubborn little guy. (I think he gets that from Blaine! Ü) My doctor is going to do another "test" in a few weeks. Hopefully Eli cooperates better next time! Also, Eli is measuring 3 weeks ahead! Yikes! So, he might come early or he might be a gigantic baby. (I'm hoping for the first option.) I'm getting REALLY anxious! We still have lots we need to get done though. We need to get busy.

Early huh? That could be exciting! What exactly is the Biophysical Profile ultrasound? What are they looking for? I have had a fair share of ultrasounds with Gavin and Payton but I don't remember hearing Biophysical. If you feel like sharing I would love to know. Or I guess I could google it. :)
A Biophysical Profile is a test they do on the baby through ultrasound. It is a 4 part test that is pass or fail and it must be completed within a half an hour. The 4 parts are: 1- they check the amniotic fluid around the baby. 2- They make sure the baby can move its body the normal amount. 3- Make sure the baby can move his head consistantly. (This one I guess is checking his muscule development.) 4- The babies lungs aren't developed yet, but you check that he is "practicing" breathing. You have to see his diaphram move a few times in a row. I guess they only do a Biophysical Profile if the doctor has a concern about the babies development or if it's a higher risk pregnancy. But, Eli passed, so I guess there's nothing to worry about. I didn't know this wasn't a normal procedure until later in the day when my friend and sisters said they had never had that test done. Otherwise I would have asked more questions.
Holy cow! 3 weeks?! I will hope for you that he isn't huge, but you never know, you could be wonderwoman jen! It might be no big deal for you at all. I'm glad he passed. Good luck!
Glad the test went well! I hope you are doing better after yesterday! Love you!
