Surprise!! Ü

About 4 1/2 weeks ago I woke Tyson up at 3:30 in the morning with some SHOCKING news. For the past week I had been feeling kind of WEIRD. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. One of the weird things was that I was STARVING all of the time. Well, I woke up at 3:30 a.m. on September 25th. I had to go to the bathroom SO BAD! I happened to have a pregnancy test under the sink from who knows how long ago! I thought "I'm just going to take this test so I can cross that off the list of what might be wrong with me." It's not supposed to be possible for us to get pregnant. We are BOTH broken. Well, to my surprise, the test was POSITIVE! HOLY COW!! I started laughing and crying all at the same time. I went into our bedroom and said "Tyson I'm PREGNANT!" He was pretty confused at first, but then he realized what I was saying. He started laughing too!
I called the doctors office the day after we found out. They wanted to see me that day. So, we drove up to Logan. (Yes, my doctor is in Logan. He is AMAZING! We just love him so much. He helped us with all our infertility stuff. He is just so great we couldn't change doctors.) I have this thing called Leiden Factor V. It is basically that during pregnancy I would get blood clots so the baby wouldn't get enough blood and it would die. They did an ultrasound to find a heartbeat so they could start me on heparin shots. I give myself a heparin shot twice a day. It was REALLY hard at first. I am TERRIFIED of needles. The first time I did it, I was HYSTERICAL! I had to have Tyson give me a blessing. In the BLESSING he said that Heavenly Father knew how hard this was for me and that He would help me. He really has helped me! It still hurts and it still bruises my stomach, but I'm not afraid of doing it anymore. I just shoot up and deal with it. Ü Something kind of funny, for you TWILIGHT fans. When my friend, Jessica, saw my bruised stomach she said "Oh, Jenny's having a vampire!" Ü
We had another doctors appointment yesterday. It went well. The BABY is doing great! We are 10 WEEKS along. Our due date is May 20, 2009. It's still a little while away, but that's a good thing. Blaine doesn't like it when Mommy holds other babies. So, we are trying to get him used to that. The baby is due about 3 weeks before Blaine turns 2. If you have any ADVICE about getting Blaine ready for his brother or sister PLEASE let us know! Ü

that is so awesome!!! You are very blessed. My sister has 4 kids, 2 with factor 5 and is pregnant with number 5. This is the third time she has had to do the shots. Not fun...but worth the result! :) I can't tell you how happy I am for you! (even though you don't really know me ;) This is truly amazing!!! I got a tear and a smile all at he same time!

Oh my world jenny!!! You have no idea how happy I am for you! Seriously! I almost cried reading your post. You can do this. I hope your insurance covers the shots bc I know they're pricey. I give them all the time to ppl in the hospital. I hope this pregnancy goes well and I'll keep you in my thoughts and keep your name in the temple roll if you don't mind. I'm there every Tuesday working so it's easy for me. :) I love you!! I'm so excited for you! And I have no advice on Blaine bc I'm not a mommy yet.

Jenny!! I'm so happy for you!! That's amazing that you even thought to take a pregnancy test! :) I can't even count how many I've bought them thru out the years... but it's been forever since I've had one at home. If you are ever in Logan and want to come over for a little play date give me a call!

Oh my gosh!! What awesome news. We could not be happier for you both. Heavenly Father works in mysterious ways, huh? I can't wait to meet your baby. I haven't met Blaine yet, sheesh we gotta get together. Congrats again, take care.

This is the most exciting news we have heard in awhile! We are so excited for you. WOW! What a blessing. Like many others, the news made Willie and I very happy and tear up a little. Congratulations you two love birds. One thing that we are doing with Parker is we gave him a baby doll that has a binky and bottle. We try to get him excited about holding 'his baby' and being nice to the doll. That way when #2 comes he'll be a little prepared. It's an idea and not everyone likes their little boy to carry around a doll. Get Blaine exposed to other children and get him way excited for the baby. That's all the advice I have. Enjoy the pregnancy Jenny! Taylor, take good care of her. Love you guys.

I'm glad you found our blog, I'm excited for you guys. Something that I like to do is get a small present for the kids and when the baby arrives tell them it's from the new baby and they get pretty excited.

CONGRATS!!! ooh, that is such exciting news. I just wanted to say that Blaine will be fine. Kids adjust so quickly. Talk about the baby in your tummy to him and even if he's upset at first it won't take long before he can't remember a time without the baby.
I know lots of people give toys/presents to the older one, (please no one else take offense) but it just seems like a waste of money to me. The gift of a sibling is a gift. He will love having someone to play with.

Good luck with those shots! ouchy

Congratulations! This is great news! Also amazing how things like this happen. By the way if you are wondering who the heck this is, I went to school with Tyson.

Ok, so I am reading all the advice people are giving you. When I had Annie, Noah was just excited to have a baby in the house. WHen I had Cooper, Annie wanted to do everything for him that I was doing. Like feed him, change him, hold him all the time. So on the way home from the hospital, we stopped at the store and got a baby doll for Annie; one that she could do all those things with. So she had a baby to take care of, not so much learn how to be around him. She just wanted to be a little mommy. Blaine will figure it out. It only takes him poking the baby in the eyes once to learn that he has to be soft (yes, I am speaking from experience.)
