Spending More Time With the Family

As of late I have felt like I have been working a ton and feeling kind of bad about not being home as much as I would like to. I spend 4 hours a day in commuting to and from Salt Lake on the train and a bus. Then I try to get 8.5 to 9 hours in a work all while taking a two hour lunch to go to the gym to get in better shape. I wake up at 5 to catch the 6am train and I have been getting home at around 8:30pm. It sucks! Anyways, I was really feeling bad and really wanted to spend more time with the family. Especially Blaine. So this past Wednesday I got to spend the extra time with my son...in the emergency room. Blaine, the poor kid, fell backwards off a chair at the church and hit his head. He threw up a couple of times and we decided to take him the emergency room just to make sure all was ok (we all remember what happened when I had my concussion, don't we?). Well, everything turned out ok and Blaine was fine. It took less time to see the ER doc than to go to the regular one. However, it did cost 5 times as much. The doctor literally took 5 minutes with us and was able to tell right away that Blaine was ok. So, Blaine is fine and I got some good quality time in the ER with Blaine and Jenny. And, lucky for me, my office is going to 4 days a week so I will have an extra day to play with the fam.

That is SO not fun! We went to the instacare with Maddie last weekend.. she woke up from her nap with blood in her mouth and I, of course, FREAKED OUT!! So, after 2 hours of sitting and waiting we saw the doc for 10 minutes who informed us that it was probably a bloody nose that went to her mouth because she was laying down.. it made sense, she's had 2 small bloody noses in the last couple of weeks, but it was still awful! So, $40 and 1 humidifier later... we're doing great!

Heavenly Father works in mysterious ways. We have had many of those "wanting more time" or while we were having our fun together time we get jolted by these crazy adventures thrown in front of us. Alas, a new experience and memory of time spent together wether or not it was what we thought it would be.
I'm so glad the little guy is okay. I bet you and Jenny were shaken up more than Blaine. I know I am when stuff happens. Miss you guys.

Oh man! Kinda scary! I'm glad Blaine was okay!

Yeah, we got to "spend more time with our family" on Sunday when our car broke down at 1:30 am in the middle of nowhere about an hour from home. Good times!

Ya, we did this with Annie last summer. She decided to slam her thumb in one of those heavy doors at the church (hmmmm...injuries at the church). It ripped her nail off and broke her thumb. Quality time, I guess. We got a kick out of watching her react to the sedatives they gave her. A little loopy girl.

Hi Jenny!

This is Charlie's wife. I am glad that Blaine is ok, I am sure that was super scary for you guys. And it does not make you feel better that you wait and wait in the ER and the doctor is in and out within 5 minutes.
He is super cute, glad he is good!
